Liberty High School is proud to announce, Day of the Arts, a much anticipated, annual event that showcases both visual and performing arts created and performed by Liberty High School students. The event will take place on April 14th throughout the school day as well as during Open House from 6-8pm on Liberty High School’s campus L Wing.
Day of the Arts will present art works created by students enrolled in a variety of visual and performing art classes including Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Arts, Ceramics, 3D Design, AP 2D & 3D Design, Choir and Dance. The day specifically showcases the AP Studio Art Students who are presenting their portfolio that they have been developing for six months. The event will also showcase chalk art created by students ranging from Intermediate Art to AP Studio Art. In addition, Day of the Arts will also feature small workshops at individual tables to provide artistic opportunities to patrons and guests will be able to preview PADA’s (Public Art and Design Academy) current public design art project.
There is no fee to attend this event.

Join us in a celebration of the season of love with the written word at 6:30 pm, Feb. 11th, in the Brentwood Community Center. All short work -- poetry, short story, nonfiction, or any other creative work - - is welcome. Participants are allowed 5 minutes each to perform. We encourage you to bring work on any subject, your own or that of another writer, as long as it is neither insulting nor abusive. Everyone is invited whether performing or listening and enjoying. This event is free and open to the public. Open Mic is presented by Brentwood Writes, an adjunct of the Brentwood Art Society and the Brentwood Community Library. Juror Ruth Santee is the director and co/owner of Transmission Gallery in Oakland, California. Santee is an Oakland based artist whose work has been exhibited in museum, non-profit and gallery venues. She received her BFA from the College of Santa Fe, NM and MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Santee is a recipient of the Cadogan Fellowship Award from the San Francisco Foundation and of a commission from the San Francisco Arts Commission. She has taught at the California College of Art Extended Ed Program, UC Davis and Bakersfield College and is a tenured professor at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California.

The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch is proud to present the free 11th Annual Local Artist Collection featuring up to 35 local artists at the Lynn House Gallery from November 21st - December 12th. The Local Artist Collection exhibit is a diverse, non-themed mixed media exhibit of artworks featuring paintings, photographs and more. In its 11th year, the show is a local favorite and provides the community an opportunity to view and purchase local art during the holiday season.
The exhibit opens with a free artist reception on Saturday November 21st from 2-4 PM. The exhibit will continue through December 12th from 1-4 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1-4 PM.

Reception: Brentwood Community Center Public Art Walls for AGD Member's Show
Artists living in and around the Delta, with the many hills and valleys, along with East Bay Regional Park properties, have an abundance of opportunities to capture nature and all its wonders in many art forms. The Nature's Canvas Exhibit, will feature nature, in all mediums. The exhibit is open all artists on a first come basis, up to a total of 35 artists. The work must focus on nature, however the work is not juried; it is left up to the artist to determine what nature means to them.
he exhibit continues through October 10th on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1-4 PM. The artist reception and exhibit are free to the public.
