Artist of the Year

Barbie Koncher, an area resident since 1992, was recently named Artist of the Year by the Brentwood Art Society.

Koncher has been making jewelry for more than 30 years, working in a number of various mediums.

“I was absolutely shocked when I found out I was being named for this honor,” said Koncher. “I just love the creative process, whether I’m fusing glass or doing bronze work. I also love the work I have done with the Brentwood Arts Commission and the Brentwood Art, Wine and Jazz Festival; I’ve always been a big promoter of the arts and art scholarships for students.”

The Brentwood Artist of the Year award, which was founded in 2008 to recognize the contributions of a local artists and arts supporters, is the most recent recognition of Koncher’s talent and dedication to the local arts community. The award will be formally presented during the Brentwood Art, Wine and Jazz Festival in August.

Select pieces of Koncher’s works will soon be available for purchase at the Delta Gallery.

Visions in Clay 2015 reception

Congratulations to our own Rosalinda Grejsen and Julee Richardson on a successful show opening last night, attended by many other members of AGD. It sounds like a lot of fun was had by everyone.

This show at the LH Horton Jr Gallery features 55 ceramic artists and runs until September 17th.  It sounds like a trip to Stockton for a gallery visit is well worth it.

Welcome to the all new website

If you are reading this, then you have made it to the all new Art Guild of the Delta website.  Our goal is to make this website a central place for the latest news and events for not only the AGD membership but for the Bay Area arts community. Fresh content will keep everyone coming back and bring attention to your own artwork.

How can you make this website even better? We really need the help from all of the AGD members.

  1. We really need your news items. If you have a gallery show, new painting announcement or you will be showing your work at a festival, let us know! We will add it to the news or calendar. Teaching an art class? Let us know about that too.
  2. We want to show the work of AGD members in our online galleries.  Send us 5 or 6 images of your work that you would like to share.

Email robin@artguildofthedelta.org with your news and images.

Thanks for your help and we would love to hear what you think of the new website.
